Quinoa for breakfast?

If you don’t know about the wonders of Quinoa, you really ought to Google those seeds and get the skinny – the short story is that they’re packed with every amino acid and fibre – and lysine which repairs your muscles. I’ve been cooking with it for years, and using quinoa flakes in my smoothie bowls the last year – but this morning I had the time to actually cook Quinoa flakes as a porridge and it was pretty spectacular.

I know what you’re thinking – I wants this!

Well you CAN have it – in fact you can have THIS EXACT BOWL if you gather these things together in your kitchen:

👨‍🍳

1/4 cup of Quinoa flakes and

1 cup of almond milk with

a pinch of pink salt and

Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Method:

Take all of the above and bring to the boil, stirring continuously.

Once it’s bubbling nicely, bring down the heat and stir in blueberries and blackberries – as many as you want.

Remove from the heat and decorate with whatever strikes your fancy (or tastebuds) – I went for coconut flakes, LSA mix and a tiny bit of maple syrup because I wanted real comfort food (sugar) this morning and a smidgen of extra energy.
